1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
UPESSC (Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission) is a statutory body constituted by the Government of Uttar Pradesh for recruitment of Assistant Professors and teaching faculty in state-aided degree colleges under the UP Higher Education Department. In 2026, UPESSC issued Advt. No. 04/2026 for 1,936 Assistant Professor posts. Candidates must complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on upessc.up.gov.in before applying. Applications are open September 8 to October 7, 2026. Written exam: November 19-20, 2026.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Master degree with minimum 55% marks in relevant subject. NET/SET/SLET or Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2018. Age limit: 21-40 years (relaxation for reserved categories). Valid Uttar Pradesh domicile certificate required for reservation.
