1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) is the central government ministry responsible for youth empowerment and sports infrastructure development in India. It oversees the Sports Authority of India (SAI), National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), and Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Assistant Director / Sports Officer / Coach: Bachelor's degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed) or Diploma in Sports Coaching from NS NIS Patiala, or medal winner in recognized international/national sporting events. Age limit: 21 to 35 years.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Recruitment conducted via UPSC or Sports Authority of India direct recruitment boards through Computer-Based Screening Tests and Physical/Technical Field trials.
4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects
Sports Science, Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, Sports Nutrition, National Sports Development Code of India, and General Sports Administration.
