1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background

Military Engineer Services (MES) is one of the premier construction and maintenance agencies of the Government of India, operating under the Corps of Engineers of the Indian Army. It builds and maintains military airfields, naval docks, ordnance factories, and cantonment infrastructure.

2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits

Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical): 3-year Diploma or Degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering; age 18 to 30 years. Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE): Degree in Engineering recruited via UPSC ESE.

3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure

Recruitment conducted via SSC Junior Engineer (JE) exam or UPSC ESE, followed by Physical and Medical Fitness checks at military hospitals.

4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects

General Engineering (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical principles, Building materials, Surveying, Structural Analysis) and General Intelligence & Reasoning.
