1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is an armed security force constituted under the Railway Protection Force Act 1957. It is entrusted with protecting railway passengers, passenger areas, and railway rolling stock across all Indian railway networks.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Constable: 10th pass; age 18 to 28 years. Sub-Inspector (SI): Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university; age 20 to 28 years. Physical standard: Height 165 cm for male (157 cm for female); chest 80-85 cm.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Stage 1: Computer-Based Test (120 Questions in 90 minutes). Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET - 1600m run in 5 min 45 sec for Constable) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT). Stage 3: Document Verification.
4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects
General Awareness (50 Marks), Arithmetic (35 Marks), and General Intelligence & Reasoning (35 Marks).
