1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is the premier agency under the Department of Defence R&D of the Ministry of Defence. With over 50 specialized laboratories across the country, it designs and manufactures indigenous defense systems, missile arsenals, avionics, and radar systems.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Scientist 'B' (RAC): First Class Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Master's Degree in Science with a valid GATE score. CEPTAM (Senior Technical Assistant - STA 'B'): 3-year Diploma in Engineering or B.Sc in relevant subject; age 18 to 28 years.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Scientist 'B': Shortlisting based on GATE score followed by Personal Interview at RAC New Delhi. CEPTAM: Tier-I CBT (Screening) followed by Tier-II CBT (Subject specialization test) and Trade/Skill test.
4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects
RAC Scientist: In-depth technical questions covering specialized undergraduate engineering curricula. CEPTAM: Quantitative Ability, General Intelligence, General Awareness, and discipline-specific technical questions.
