1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is a statutory autonomous corporation established under the ESI Act 1948. It provides socio-economic protection and integrated healthcare coverage to organized sector workers and their dependents through a network of dispensaries and multi-specialty hospitals.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Upper Division Clerk (UDC): Degree of a recognized university with working knowledge of computer applications; age 18 to 27 years. Social Security Officer (SSO): Degree of a recognized university (commerce/law preferred); age 21 to 27 years.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Qualifying). Phase-II: Main Examination (Objective CBT). Phase-III: Computer Skill Test (CST) & Descriptive Test (for SSO).
4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects
General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension, Insurance & Social Security fundamentals, and MS Office operations.
