The Medical Services Recruitment Board (MRB) is a specialized state recruitment body established by state governments (such as Tamil Nadu) for direct and speedy recruitment of Medical Officers, Assistant Surgeons, Nurses, and Pharmacists in public hospitals.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Assistant Surgeon (General): MBBS degree from a recognized university and permanent registration with the State Medical Council. Age limit: Up to 35-37 years for general candidates.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Computer-Based Test (CBT) or OMR written test based on the medical curriculum followed by certificate verification. No oral interview for Assistant Surgeon posts.
