1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is an autonomous statutory recruitment agency established in 1975. It conducts centralized Common Recruitment Processes (CRP) for Probationary Officers (PO), Clerks, and Specialist Officers (SO) across 11 Public Sector Banks and Regional Rural Banks.

2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits

IBPS PO / Clerk: Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Operating and working knowledge in computer systems is mandatory. Age Limit: 20 to 30 years for PO; 20 to 28 years for Clerk.

3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure

Probationary Officer: Preliminary Exam (100 Marks CBT), Main Exam (200 Marks Objective + 25 Marks Descriptive Essay/Letter), and Common Interview (100 Marks). Clerk: Preliminary Exam and Main Exam only (no interview).

4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects

English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, and General/Economy/Banking Awareness with high emphasis on current financial policies and RBI guidelines.
