Full Form of ITBP

1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is a specialized mountain-warfare Central Armed Police Force raised on 24 October 1962. It guards the 3,488 kilometer long Indo-China border stretching across high altitude terrains from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh.

2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits

Constable (GD): 10th pass; age 18 to 23 years. Sub-Inspector (Telecommunication / GD): Bachelor's degree or Diploma in relevant field; age 20 to 25 years. Physical standards require extreme endurance and medical fitness.

3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure

Physical Efficiency Test (1.6 km run, long jump, high jump), Physical Standard Test, Written Examination, Skill Test, and Detailed Medical Examination.

4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects

General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, Reasoning and Analytical Aptitude, and Basic Hindi/English comprehension.
