Full Form of NDA
1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
The National Defence Academy (NDA), located at Khadakwasla near Pune, is the world's first tri-service military academy. Cadets of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force train together before proceeding to their respective service pre-commissioning academies.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Unmarried male and female candidates. Army Wing: 12th Class pass of 10+2 pattern. Air Force & Navy Wings: 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Age Limit: 16.5 to 19.5 years.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Stage 1: Written Examination (Mathematics - 300 Marks, 2.5 hrs; General Ability Test GAT - 600 Marks, 2.5 hrs). Stage 2: 5-Day SSB Interview (900 Marks). Stage 3: Strict Medical Board Examination.
4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects
Mathematics (Algebra, Matrices, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vector Algebra, Statistics & Probability) and GAT (Part A: English - 200 Marks; Part B: General Knowledge, Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies, Geography, Current Events - 400 Marks).
