1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
SSB refers either to the Services Selection Board (the 5-day evaluation authority that assesses candidates for officer commissions in the Indian Armed Forces) or Sashastra Seema Bal (a Central Armed Police Force guarding India's borders with Nepal and Bhutan).
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Services Selection Board: Candidates who clear written exams like NDA, CDS, AFCAT, or direct technical entries (TGC, SSC-Tech). Sashastra Seema Bal: 10th pass for Constables; Degree for Sub-Inspectors and Assistant Commandants.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Military SSB: Stage I (OIR Test & PPDT Screening). Stage II (Psychological tests: TAT, WAT, SRT, SD; Group Testing Officer GTO outdoor tasks; Personal Interview; and Final Board Conference).
