1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai is a premier military training institution of the Indian Army established in 1963. It trains male and female cadets for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army across non-technical and technical arms.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Both unmarried male and female candidates are eligible. Age limit: 19 to 25 years. Recruited via UPSC CDS Exam.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Stage 1: UPSC CDS Written Exam (English - 100 Marks, General Knowledge - 100 Marks; Mathematics is exempted for OTA). Stage 2: 5-Day SSB Interview. Stage 3: Medical Board.
4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects
English Language proficiency and General Knowledge covering current affairs, history, defense, geography, and general science.
