1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) constitutes the zonal recruitment apparatus established in 2005 across all 16 Railway Zones of Indian Railways. RRCs are mandated to manage recruitments for Level-1 (formerly Group 'D') posts including Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Pointsman, Gateman, Porter, and technical workshop assistants.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
10th pass from NCERT/recognized board, or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT, or 10th pass plus ITI. Age limit: 18 to 33 years with category relaxations.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Computer-Based Test (CBT - 100 questions, 90 minutes) -> Physical Efficiency Test (PET: Weight lifting & running) -> Document Verification (DV) & Comprehensive Railway Medical Examination.
