Full Form of CHSL
1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
SSC CHSL is a nationwide competitive examination conducted to recruit candidates into Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and Data Entry Operator (DEO) positions in various ministries, subordinate departments, and tribunals of the Government of India.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University. For DEO in CAG office: 12th pass in Science stream with Mathematics. Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as of the cut-off date.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Tier-I: Computer-Based Test (100 Qs, 200 Marks, 60 minutes). Tier-II: Objective CBT (Section 1: Maths & Reasoning; Section 2: English & General Awareness; Section 3: Computer Knowledge Test) followed immediately by Skill Test / Typing Test.
4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects
Quantitative Aptitude, General Intelligence, English Language (basic grammar and vocabulary), General Awareness, and Computer Proficiency. Typing test requires minimum 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi.
