1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
The Village Development Officer (VDO), also designated as Gram Vikas Adhikari, is the administrative executive officer representing the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department at the Gram Panchayat level. The VDO assists the Gram Pradhan in implementing rural development schemes.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
10+2 (Intermediate) from a recognized board, valid score in state preliminary test (e.g. UPSSSC PET), and mandatory CCC (Course on Computer Concepts) certificate from NIELIT. Age Limit: 18 to 40 years.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Written Examination (Objective CBT/OMR - 150 Questions, 300 Marks with 1/2 negative marking) followed by Document Verification.
4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects
Hindi Knowledge & Writing Ability (50 Qs, 100 Marks), General Intelligence Test / Reasoning (50 Qs, 100 Marks), and General Knowledge of India & State Special (50 Qs, 100 Marks).
