1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is the state constitutional authority established under Article 315 of the Constitution of India. It conducts state civil service examinations, school teacher recruitments (TRE), and executive selections for the administration of Bihar.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university. Age Limit for Combined Competitive Examination (CCE): 20 to 37 years for General males, 40 years for OBC/EBC and General females, and 42 years for SC/ST candidates of Bihar.
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Stage 1: Preliminary Exam (150 Marks Objective MCQ with 1/3 negative marking). Stage 2: Mains Written Exam (Subjective descriptive papers: General Hindi, GS-1, GS-2, Essay, and qualifying Optional). Stage 3: Interview / Personality Test (120 Marks).
