1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is the premier domestic crime investigation agency of India, deriving its police investigative powers from the Delhi Special Police Establishment (DSPE) Act 1946. It investigates complex economic offenses, high-level corruption, and organized crimes referred by the Supreme Court or High Courts.
2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits
Sub-Inspector in CBI: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Age Limit: 20 to 30 years. Specific physical standards apply (Height: 165 cm for men, 150 cm for women; Eye sight: 6/6 in one and 6/9 in another eye).
3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure
Recruited directly through the SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination (Tier-I and Tier-II CBT) followed by Document Verification and Medical Fitness certification.
