Full Form of PRT

1. Official Mandate, Scope & Background

Primary Teachers (PRT) are certified school teachers responsible for teaching foundational and primary classes (Class 1 to 5) across primary schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, and municipal school boards.

2. Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications & Age Limits

Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Mandatory pass in Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Paper I. Age Limit: Up to 30 years.

3. Examination Scheme & Selection Procedure

Written Examination / CBT, followed by class teaching demo and interview assessing child pedagogy and basic teaching competence.

4. Core Syllabus & Key Subjects

Child Development & Pedagogy, Environmental Studies (EVS), Elementary Mathematics, General English, and General Hindi.
